Time for A micro-enterprises in Australia

I have not seen a chain of any aboriginal owned business or even an opportunity that offer, micro credit for that matter. The aboriginal community does not have avenues to be able to save at the micro level because the system is such that they live from hand to mouth. Is this an avenue that investors can look into and invest in the micro credit systems in the Australia with an emphasis on supporting the aboriginal community? Is there a way the African American community can be able to set up co-ops in order to help our brothers and sisters in the Aboriginal community?

The aboriginal communities have been so marginalized. They have suffered just like the Africans the African Americans ,trying to get out of slavery or the Africans while trying to fight for their Independence from the colonialists. Sad to say that the aborigines have yet to achieve their "independence". Until they are able to run their own business and employ their own people they have a long way to go. They need our support, by prayer and by pushing from the global front, not just for polices that are favorable to them but empowerment in allowing them to be able to be heard at the grass roots level.

I cannot imagine that a country as wealthy as Australia would not have an avenue for micro-credit to allow small business to be established by the aboriginal community. The church is a great institution to be able to use as an avenue as it knows more of the people’s needs at the community level than the actual government official on the ground.

How can we be more proactive in meeting those needs?

  1. Hey Njoro,
having been in business for quite a while it will not surprise me to know that australia and indeed most of the developed nations do not have a micro credit scheme.
In a capitalist economy it is considered within your powers to lift yourself from the throngs of poverty either thru venture capitalists or banks.
however it is the responsibility of the financial institutions through government initiatives to cater for all levels of incomes.
Equity bank proved that small savers can be big business in Kenya and has earned itself an envious position of the fastest growing bank in Kenya.
I can help in this initiative of micro credit scheme with the communities that need them by linking them up and providng them with the requisite information and if possible technical assistance to start of their scheme.
Let me know which way we go.
