Day one from MA-to LA

Today officially marks the first day of the mission trip experience. After travelling for over 7 hours from Massachusetts to Los Angeles we finally got to meet as an entire team.

From across the US, Los Angeles was our point of connection for orientation and relaxation before we leave on Wednesday 11pm .It was a great start, we had a chance to bond with one another. More fascinating of all was to hear the various reasons why certain team members decided that this was the right mission trip to join. I managed to capture this on video since I am planning to have a documentary of the entire trip.

The team consists of various professionals, mechanical engineers, civil engineers, accountants, designers, education specialists, computer gurus and experienced PHD scholars and doctorial candidates. The flavor adds to the vision of Black Scholars and Professionals (BSAP)

It was great to hear the other team members expression on that this was a first for:

  1. African Americans to go on a mission trip to Australia

  2. BSAP to send it first group to Australia

As I contemplate on day I cannot help but be in awe on how God works in us and through others. The testimonies share on how some members managed to raise funds for the trip is really unbelievable. But for God all things are possible and what seems to be man's dilemma is an opportunity for man to see God move.

Tomorrow is another day where we begin orientation and come evening we will be airborne on Qantas airline…………the spirit of Australia.

Auzzie here we come.
